In Blue ~ The Corrs ~ Rock ~ CD ~ Used VG

The Corrs -- three sisters and a brother from Ireland -- have taken the world by storm, ascending international pop chart after international pop chart on the strength of their beautifully sculpted songs and matching cheekbones. The videogenic band's layered vocal melodies and well-placed Celtic flavors meld folk-pop traditions while embracing the fresh sound of postmillennial radio. The peppy standout track "Radio" -- one of a handful produced by legendary rock producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange (a.k.a. Mr. Shania Twain) -- arrives ready to take over the airwaves with a resounding chorus, edgy guitar line, and crisp, electronic-edged production. Still, the Corrs sneak in a brief violin refrain -- a proudly worn badge of their heritage. Other traditional flourishes color In Blue -- Sharon Corr's violin, Caroline Corr's bodhran, and lead singer Andrea Corr's tin whistle -- but only when the melodies allow room for it.
