Editorial Reviews
Triple threat singer/songwriter and guitarist Shane Henry puts his best foot forward on Deliverance, staking his claim as one of the next great blues/rock sensations. Shane's mix of southern blues guitar grit, timeless rock sensibilities and soulful baritone vocals, have positioned him as the next precocious young blues rocker to break out of the Heartland, which has spawned such young stars as Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd (who guests on Deliverance) and Shannon Curfman. While some prodigies are born, 19 year-old Shane Henry's virtuosity has been self-made. Henry is a teenage workhorse whoÂ's spent his formative years touring roadhouses of the American South. The Oklahoma native has already found his own voice and in doing so, has garnered admiration from numerous veterans on the blues scene. He's had the rare privilege of touring with blues legends B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Shane possesses a clear idea of who he is and what he wants to accomplish as an artist.
About the Artist
Shane Henry was bitten by the blues bug at age 15 when his father took him to a concert to hear B.B. King. He describes this experience has life altering. Shane's encounter with B.B. King led him to purchase an electric guitar and begin soaking up the sounds of B.B. King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, and Johnny Winter – legends for whom he still professes a great love. By the following year, the ambitious young guitarist had released his own full-length blues album. Shortly after releasing his first recording, Shane met Kevin Bowe, who immediately heard something special in Shane's voice. The two began writing songs together and cutting demos at Bowe's studio. Their collaborations led to Shane being signed by management company Blue Sky Artists, who were instrumental in the breakthroughs of Jonny Lang and Susan Tedeschi. Just three years after Shane's first B.B. King concert, the industrious young musician landed the incredible opportunity to open a national tour for B.B. King and Buddy Guy!
